P1(b) Script

Starring: Marco, Gladys 

Supporting actors: Bosco(Marco’s Friend), Alex (Fiance of Gladys)

Location: London, Canterbury

Props: letter, box, ring, SIM card

China/Rural Area

Scene 1: 

Gladys(serious at first then change to joking): “What will you do if I am not with you one day?”

Marco(frown and doesn’t believe)

Scene 2:

Gladys(sad): Writing a letter..(about she is going to leave and tell the Marco not to find her)

Scene 3:

Marco(can’t believe, worried then sad)He couldn’t believe when he received the letter, but he started to worry because the girl told him before, then he tried to call her but no one answered. He went to her house and knocked the door, but there were no responses. He kicked off the door and found the house is empty.

London

Scene 4:

Gladys(unwillingness, helpless) Arrived London(new place).

Gladys parents(imperative): “Forget the past and have new life.”

Scene 5:

Marco(crying, puzzled): He sat on the floor and cried.

Three years later…

China

Scene 6:

Marco’s Friend(joking): “Hey, she is beautiful.” Showed the photo to Marco.

Marco(shoot a glance at the photo then can’t move the eyes) The girl in the photo is Gladys, (exciting)he took the phone and entered her Facebook page then he knew she is in London. 

London

Scene 7:

Gladys(dignified) She is totally changed, became a mature and capable woman. 

China

Scene 8:

Marco(exciting, nervous) He decided to go to London, one of the reasons is he needed to work there, but the most important reason is he wanted to find the girl.

London

Scene 9:

Marco(hopeful, nervous and exciting) “Have you seen this girl?” He asked every stranger when he walked on the street. (became disappointed) He asked so many people but he didn’t get any information.

Marco(shocked) Suddenly, he saw a girl looks like Gladys in a distance in front of him, then he stopped and couldn’t believe that. 

Gladys(shocked) She saw Marco but she was unsure. She turned around and left immediately.

Marco(surprised) He wanted to chase but there were too many people on the street and the girl left.

Scene 10:

They met in the company because business works and they met with two teams.

Marco(sad): “Why did you leave?”

Gladys(clamminess): “After all these years, you should move on.” Then she left.

Scene 11:

Marco(angry): “”

Fiance(biting): “There is nothing you can do, she won’t be yours.”

Marco(angry) He catches the man’s collar and wanted to hit him.

Gladys(worry, anxious) She walked to the office and pushed the door. “What are you doing here?”

She walked to the boy(supporting actor) and spoke to Marco(indifferent, inhospitality, unexpressive) “He is my fiance, we gonna get marry soon. ” Then she left with the boy.

Marco(distraught) He leans on the table and lowers his head. Then he hit the table to relieved his feelings.

Scene 12:

Marco(drunk) He was drunk on the bar and left his phone in unlock state on the table. And the screen showed Gladys’ contact number.

Bartender(polite) He tried to wake Marco up but he didn’t success. Then he saw the phone on the table showed the contact number, therefore, he called that number to asked the person to collected him. “Hi, here is xxx, your friend is drunk, he is sleeping now and I can’t wake him, but we need to close soon, can you come to collect him?”

Gladys(uncertain) “Do you know his name?”

Bartender(polite) “Um…Marco?”

Gladys(worry) “Sorry, I don’t know him.” Then she cut the phone.

Bartender(polite) “Hi..hi Miss..”

Gladys(anxious) She went to the bar immediately even if she said she doesn’t know him. When she arrived the bar, she felt comfortable when she saw Marco is sleeping there.

Gladys(blame) She walked to Marco and said: “Why do you drink so much?”

Marco(drunk, happy) He heard a familiar voice, so he raised his head then he laughed when he saw Gladys. He held Gladys and said, “I love you.”

Gladys(worry, sad but calmness) “You are drunk.” But she didn’t push him away.

Scene 13:

Marco(sad, determined) He was on the train and decided to leave. He sent a message ‘It’s time to leave, wish you all the best’ to Gladys and threw away his SIM card.

Scene 14:

Gladys(sad, aching, helpless) She saw the message but she couldn’t do anything to ask him to stay.

Fiance(determined) “Are you sure to let him go?”

Gladys(thinking) She looked at his fiance but didn’t say anything.

Fiance(determined) He took off his ring and said: “Don’t miss the chance again.”

Scene 15:

Gladys(look forward) She went back to China(the place that she has lots of memories with Marco). She remembered Marco buried a small box beside a tree. She wondered the thing in the box, therefore, she went to the place and tried to find out the box. And she saw there is a note in the box ‘’

Scene 16:

Gladys(disappointed, nervous) She went to the place that Marco wrote on the note at the time he mentioned.  She looked forward to seeing him, but she couldn’t sure Marco remember this after all these years. She waited for a long time but she didn’t see Marco.

She wanted to give up and ready to leave, however, she felt surprised when she turned around because Marco is on the door.
